We recently received a jobsite photo from one of our customers in Colombia. Taken in Cartagena, Bolívar, the image shows a WP450A butt fusion machine set up and in use on a local pipeline project.
The facer is positioned between the machine clamps, indicating that the operator is preparing the pipe ends before fusion. This process removes the outer surface and any uneven sections, leaving two clean, parallel faces ready for alignment, heating and final joining.
Because the pipe section is relatively long, an external support has been placed further along the line to help maintain its position and allow smoother movement during operation. Together, the fusion frame, hydraulic unit, facer and pipe support form a practical setup for on-site work.
Photos like this offer a valuable look at how the WP450A is used beyond the factory floor. Rather than simply showing the machine itself, they capture the equipment as part of a real pipeline installation.
